A Little About Me
I earned my Master's degree in counseling from Ottawa University, and I have experience working with children, teens and adults with a variety of mental health concerns. As I have moved forward in my career, I found a passion for treating anxiety and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD).
Before diving into the world of counseling, I pursued my Bachelor's degree in Art Education at Arizona State University. I spent a few years working as an elementary and middle school art teacher prior to moving up to the White Mountains in Arizona.
My approach to counseling is based on connection and skill building. I believe in providing evidence-based treatment that focuses on the factors that maintain anxiety such as avoidance, accommodation and catastrophic thinking. Counseling may include mapping out and gradually reducing family accommodations, naming and externalizing worry, and creating and drawing plans for how to respond when anxiety shows up.
Outside of the counseling room, you will find me reading, baking, drawing, riding my gravel bike and spending time with my husband and our two kids. If you know me, you know my favorite color is green and I consider coffee a food group.
